BIOGRAPHY
Born in 2001 in Munich,
he had his first trombone lesson with Christofer Varner at the Pestalozzi Gymnasium, Munich at the age of 13, where he got his first experiences with Jazz and Big Band music.
At the age of 15, he joined the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra and from 2020-2023 he was member of the German Youth Jazz Orchestra (Bajazzo).
Since 2019 he has been studying jazz trombone at Jazzcampus Basel with Adrian Mears. 2022 he finished his Bachelor and went on studying Master Of Composition with Guillermo Klein at Jazzcampus Basel.
Moritz Renner won the "BMW Young Artist Jazz Award 2024". With his trio "RENNER" he also won the "Förderpreis des Bayerischen Jazzverbands 2023" and the "Biberach Jazzpreis 2024".
